Houston we have a problem

Walk through

Continued to seal up the outside of the cab link, this feature is causing lots of head scratching with my other truck builder and travelling friends.

First the GRP sheet is cut to size and fitted to the frame with Sika, the edges that are to be trimmed are roughed/keyed up

Then the GRP cappings are cut and pre fitted

Then fixed in place using activator then 252

The spacers are made from HDPE to keep the 2mm gap

The spacers are removed when set and seal made good

The jigsaw has landed

The panels arrived today

It threw it down when we carried them into the garage .... Let's hope it dries up soon.

Houston we have a problem

Started to lay out and measure the panels and get my head around the best way to put this together.

The panels all seem great but the floor has a bend in it of about 12mm. Contacted CVR and they came up to look at the problem the next day. Lots of umming and arring resulted in the only option being to make a new floor......:-( looks like another wait before I can start.

New floor

CVR delivered my new floor today and it is flat.

Got cracking straight away drilled for the fixings then lifted the floor on blocks. I superglued M14 washers over every chassis fixing hole to maintain the thickness for the adhesive, keyed and then primed the whole chassis and the underside of the floor. Applied 252 to all of the chassis members then dropped the floor back into position. Bolted down with M12 high tensile bolts through 40 mm stainless load spreading washers wherever it won't be visible.
